The Engagement Score is the overall measurement of learner engagement for an organisation, based on in-platform interactions and learner activity.

Our Engagement Score is the overall measurement of learner engagement for an organisation, based on in-platform interactions made by learners during their learning journey. The Engagement Score is a visual representation of this metric. Learn how it is calculated here.

Engagement Score calculation

The Engagement Score is calculated on a scale from 1 to 10.

For the score to be calculated there is a minimum threshold of learners using the platform; if your organisation does not meet the minimum threshold, an engagement score will not be displayed.

The formula used for calculation considers three factors: time span, active learners, and non-essential platform interactions.

Time span. The Engagement Score requires a minimum time span to be calculated and is then updated on a daily basis, the timespan looks at data over the previous 90 days of activity.

Active and registered learners. The Engagement Score considers both the percentage of registered learners and the behaviour of active learners in the platform. An active learner is a learner who has logged in and taken part in a learning activity, a registered learner is a learner who has an account but is not yet active in the platform.

Non-essential platform interactions. The Engagement Score is calculated using a weighted percentage of learner activity through non-essential activities. These are interactions within the platform and are not required to complete a learning activity.

Engagement Scores

After the calculation, the Engagement Score is then visualised into a score out of 10 and a label. This score uses standard mathematical rounding rules and is rounded to the nearest whole number.

Engagement Score is being calculated - We currently need more data to calculate the Engagement Score for your organisation. Onboard more learners and check back frequently to see if the score has been calculated.

0 - 20 Building - A low proportion of active learners in your organisation are currently engaged with the platform and are mainly completing core learning journeys. In addition, the percentage of registered learners compared to seats is low.

30 - 60 Launching - Some of your organisation’s learners are engaged with the platform and interacting with platform features. In addition, the percentage of registered learners compared to seats is average.

60 - 70 Taking off - The majority of your organisation’s learners are engaged with the platform and interacting with platform features. In addition, the percentage of registered learners compared to seats is above average.

70+ Rocket Ship - Nearly all learners in your organisation are fully engaged with the platform and are interacting frequently with platform features. In addition, the percentage of registered learners compared to seats is high.
